A 14-year-old boy was killed in a double shooting overnight in Lewsidale, Prince George's County police said Wednesday.
Officials said one man is in custody for the shooting, which occurred just after midnight Tuesday in the 2200 block of Sheridan Street.
The boy, who police have not named, died at a hospital. Another male was taken to a hospital in serious condition but was expected to survive, county police spokesman Cpl. Larry Johnson said. Police could not confirm whether the other shooting victim was also a juvenile. The location where the shooting occurred is on a dead-end street of single-family homes located just a block from busy East West Highway.
Few details were released about the shooting Wednesday, including the identities of those involved or any possible motive.
Two other non-fatal shootings were also reported in Prince George's County on Tuesday.
One man shot during a robbery attempt in the 1200 block of Dunbar Oaks in Chapel Oaks around 3:30 p.m. A second man was shot in a robbery attempt in Suitland on Tuesday evening. The shooting occurred in the 4400 block of Reamy Drive around 7:25 p.m., police said. It was not immediately clear whether arrests had been made in connection with either of those shootings, and police could not immediately provide the ages of the victims to determine if either were also juveniles.
