Super Bowl champs to get welcome at Newark airport

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Officials are planning a special welcome for the Giants when their charter plane lands at Newark Liberty International Airport Monday afternoon.

The Port Authority says a water cannon will salute the Super Bowl champions as their plane taxis to a hangar. The players will get on buses before heading to the team’s headquarters in East Rutherford.

New York City will honor the Giants with a ticker tape parade through Lower Manhattan’s “Canyon of Heroes” on Tuesday.
