Rodgers, who entered averaging 20.7 points, was just 4 of 19 from the field. Georgetown (13-3, 2-1) was coming off a 59-50 loss to DePaul in a Big East game on Tuesday that snapped the Hoyas’ 11-game winning streak.
Inga Orekhova, a junior college transfer playing in her first game with South Florida, scored 18 points. Jasmine Wynne added 17 points for the Bulls (9-7, 1-1).
After Wynne cut the Bulls’ deficit to 55-54 with a pair of free throws, Crawford and Rodgers had layup baskets that keyed a 9-0 run that helped secure the Georgetown victory.
Threes by Orekhova and Andrell Smith, and Caitlin Rowe’s three-point play keyed a 11-2 stretch that helped South Florida get within 53-52 with four minutes to go
