Pedestrian hit by taxi in Ballston dies

A 76-year-old pedestrian hit by a taxi in Ballston on Wednesday died from her injuries on Thursday.

Arlington police said Madela Anez de Walsh was trying to cross North Carlin Springs Road at North Glebe Road at about 9:25 a.m. when the cab hit her.

Ms. Anez de Walsh suffered a significant head injury and was taken to Fairfax Hospital, police said. She died from the injury around noon on Thursday.

The cab’s driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with police. The investigation is ongoing.
