LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Don’t expect novelty in 2012 election

- The Washington Times - Tuesday, July 24, 2012

Unfortunately, there have been absolutely no surprises so far in this election cycle, and the ugliness will only increase before we make it to the finish line in November.

The distractions and misdirection, the talking out of both sides of the mouth, the one-line platitudes and tired applause-tested cliches, and the still-mesmerized fans fainting at rallies will continue unabated. Many of the inattentive and uninformed will vote to re-elect President Obama as the informed scratch their collective heads in sad bewilderment. The lesser in numbers will choose to continue the transformation promised in the last election, while the majority, awake, energized and more focused than ever before, count the days.

When it's all said and done, November will surely come and one of the more divisive interruptions in America's history will just as surely go.
