Hunter Mahan is coming off a career-low round of 61 in the final round of last weekend’s Travelers Championship in Cromwell, Conn. That’s not the only time Mahan has seen a number that low.

In 2009 at the AT&T National, Mahan shot a 62 to finish at 12 under, one stroke behind Woods.

“I feel good about my game. I was hitting it good going into [Sunday’s 61],” said Mahan. “It is nice to shoot a good round. … You want to see that ball go in the hole once in a while.”

Mahan spoke highly of Congressional and is excited to play it.

“It’s a great major-championship type of golf course. … It’s not every week you get to play a course of this caliber,” said Mahan.

While on the driving range, Mahan was greeted by his self-proclaimed biggest fan, 9-year-old Emma Hutchinson from Bethesda. She held a sign that said ‘I’m hunting for a hug with Hunter’ which Mahan graciously signed before posing for a picture with her.
