Wide receiver Daniel Adams is enrolled in classes at Maryland after transferring from New Mexico. Adams played in two games for the Lobos under Mike Locksley, who was hired as Maryland’s offensive coordinator in December.

Edsall said he envisions the 6-foot-2, 207-pound Adams as an H-back with the ability to stretch the field. He will sit out this season as a transfer year, and it might be a while before he helps Maryland in practice. Adams suffered a foot injury in an offseason workout expected to keep him out 10 weeks and will undergo surgery Friday.

“I told him the other day ‘If it was going to happen, now was the time for it to happen since you’re not going to be playing,’” Edsall said. “He’s disappointed but he’ll be in good hands.”
