A 28-year-old woman stabbed Monday morning in Southeast has died and authorities have charged another woman with second-degree murder in her death, according to police.
Authorities identified the victim as Amber Lynette Kent, of Southeast. She was attacked and stabbed in the back around 9 a.m. in the 3400 block of 13th Place in Southeast, Metropolitan Police Department spokeswoman Officer Tisha Gant said.
Around 1:30 p.m., police arrested 31-year-old Cydrisse Marcha-Marie Alvin, also of Southeast, in connection with the homicide.
When authorities arrived at the scene in the Congress Heights neighborhood, Ms. Kent was unconscious. She was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead, Officer Gant said.
The assault may have occurred indoors, Officer Gant said.
