TEMPE, Ariz. — The Arizona Cardinals and cornerback William Gay agreed to a two-year deal. Gay spent the previous four seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Last season, he started 15 games and finished the regular season with 56 tackles - 45 unassisted - with two interceptions.

SAINTS: Linebacker Curtis Lofton agreed to a five-year contract with the New Orleans. Lofton, who was an unrestricted free agent, started all 16 games at middle linebacker for the Atlanta Falcons last season. In four seasons, Lofton was credited with 577 tackles, four sacks and three interceptions.

BRONCOS: Denver signed former Chicago backup quarterback Caleb Hanie to a two-year deal Saturday to back up Peyton Manning. Hanie, 26, spent the past three seasons with the Bears.

He went 0-4 in place of injured Jay Cutler last season, including a loss at Denver.
