George Jones hospitalized in Nashville

NASHVILLE, TENN. (AP) - Country Music Hall of Fame member George Jones is hospitalized with an upper respiratory infection.

A statement from his publicist, Kirt Webster, says the 80-year-old Jones was admitted into a Nashville area hospital on Thursday and will stay overnight for observation. He is scheduled to be released Friday.

Jones is known for classic country hits, including “He Stopped Loving Her Today.”
