LAUREL, Md. (AP) — Anne Arundel County police say a man is in serious condition after a shooting at a Wal-Mart in Laurel.
Lt. J.D. Batten, a police spokesman, says officers responded to the shopping complex around 4:15 a.m. Wednesday and found a wounded man outside the store.
Police right now believe the shooting occurred during a robbery attempt.
Batten says the male victim was being treated for a non-life-threatening shot to the upper body.
The shooter wasn't in custody, and police didn't immediately have a detailed description of him.
Police have blocked off the entrances to the shopping complex where the Wal-Mart store is located and officers could be seen searching the parking lot.
