LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Betting on the ‘eye candy’ vote

- The Washington Times - Monday, October 15, 2012

I think President Obama has insulted the intelligence of women all over the country. While on the TV show "The View" recently, he said that he was just there as "eye candy," a comment that should tell you that he thinks he's God's gift to women.

Furthermore, news reports say that he has the women's and college-age votes. He looks younger, so perhaps young people consider him a hip equal -- someone they can relate to -- but in fact, he is 51 years old and not a product of their generation. What the youth vote has failed to see thus far are the lies Mr. Obama tells in his speeches.

He said he would cut the deficit in half in his first term; he added $6 trillion to it. He said he would fix the immigration problem; he didn't, even though he had full control of the House and Senate for his first two years. He said he would have an open administration; he hasn't. He promised to have his health care bill online for all to read before he signed it; he didn't. He said he would close the Guantanamo Bay detention facility; he hasn't. He said he would bring everyone together, but instead he has divided this country by instigating class warfare between the rich and the poor.

One of the biggest fibs he has told is in regard to his foreign policy. He told the American people that the embassy attacks in Egypt and Libya were about a film that insulted the Prophet Muhammad. We were told it was a spontaneous protest that got out of hand. In fact, because of his negligence, people were murdered. He still refuses to accept responsibility. That Mr. Obama thinks women will ignore the facts and vote with their eyes is insulting.
