Washington Redskins receiver Pierre Garcon recovered enough from his right foot injury to play in last Sunday’s win over Tampa Bay. However, he’s still working his way back to full health.

“Eventually, I’ll put it past me, but there’s no set time, date for it,” Garcon said Thursday.

Garcon played 49 of 73 snaps, according to the NFL. He caught one pass for 20 yards. It was a bootleg to the right on which he caught a pass in stride crossing the middle of the field.

He also scored a touchdown by recovering quarterback Robert Griffin III’s fumble in the end zone in the first quarter.

Garcon’s presence impacted the way Tampa Bay deployed its cornerbacks. Aqib Talib followed Garcon whenever Garcon was on the field, offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan said.

Garcon fully participated in both practices so far this week, so his role figures to expand as he progresses.

“It’s going to take some time to feel back like my old self like I was in training camp,” Garcon said. “But it’s a process. It’s a battle, but it’s coming along.

“I try not to get frustrated out there. It’s part of football. Injuries happen. You just have to deal with them and do what’s best for you to get back out there 100 percent.”

Grant getting ready to run

A week after running back Ryan Grant signed with the Redskins, one element, in particular, about the team’s offense stands out to him.

“This offense starts with the run, which is different from what I’m used to,” Grant, the former Green Bay Packer, said with a laugh Thursday. “I don’t think any running back would be opposed to that.”

Grant was inactive for last Sunday’s game against Tampa Bay. He is working to learn the offense as quickly as possible, but his status for this Sunday’s game against Atlanta is uncertain.

“He is getting more comfortable with the system,” coach Mike Shanahan said. “I can’t tell you for sure if he is going to be dressing, but I like what we’ve seen. I like the guy. He picks things up very quickly. He’s very sharp. You can see he has got some running skills, so it’s a good addition for us.”

“I feel like I’m picking up everything,” Grant said. “They’re doing a good job of bringing me along. It seems to be going pretty smoothly. We’ll see how it goes, but I’m preparing every week to be up. I’m going to make sure whenever I’m up I’ll be ready to go.”
