EDEN PRAIRIE, MINN. (AP) - Adrian Peterson’s comeback from reconstructive surgery on his left knee is the latest example of what makes him Minnesota’s one-of-a-kind running back.
Peterson says he hopes his recovery inspires “a lot of people” to keep a positive attitude toward the injury. He says he believed if he remained committed to working hard in his rehabilitation program that “it would be OK.”
Peterson not only returned slightly ahead of the standard schedule, he turned in two touchdowns and 84 yards rushing for the Vikings in their season-opening win last Sunday. Coach Leslie Frazier says the team must still be cautious with his workload, but Peterson says his leg is “feeling really good” and that the 17 carries in the first game were actually fewer than he expected.
