Yahoo CEO’s brother gets probation in beating case

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - The brother of Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer has been sentenced to three years of probation following his arrest for suspicion of beating his former girlfriend.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports ( http://bit.ly/OvEVe8) 34-year-old Mason Mayer pleaded guilty Friday to a reduced charge of misdemeanor false imprisonment under a plea deal with San Francisco prosecutors.

Mayer was arrested in November and charged with three felonies _ assault, false imprisonment and domestic violence.

Prosecutors say they agreed to the plea bargain partly to allow Mayer’s former girlfriend to avoid the stress of a trial.
