LORHAM PARK, N.J. — Rex Ryan is unsure if he’ll have star cornerback Darrelle Revis back in the New York Jets‘ secondary when the team plays at Miami on Sunday.
Ryan says Monday that he doesn’t think “you can assume” Revis will be ready to go against the Dolphins after suffering what the Jets called a “mild concussion” in the season opener against Buffalo. Revis sat out the Jets‘ 27-10 loss to the Steelers after he was not cleared for contact before the team traveled to Pittsburgh.
Ryan says Revis must pass the required tests, but adds that he “looks to be doing well, so hopefully he will be playing.”
The Jets coach had no immediate injury updates on fullback John Conner (right knee), tight end Dustin Keller (hamstring) or linebacker Bryan Thomas (hamstring).
