Conservatives are expressing outrage that Google's search engine page touted a picture of civil rights leader Cesar Chavez on Easter — not Jesus, or any appropriately themed religious-related image.
Mr. Chavez, who co-founded the United Farm Workers union, died 20 years ago.
"I thought the Chavez-Google thing was a hoax or an early April Fool's Day prank," said Fox News host Dana Perino on Twitter. "Are they just going to leaves that up there all day?"
Radio host Glenn Beck tweeted: "Cool for Google to not celebrate Easter but really?!!? Happy Caesar Chavez day everybody!"
And another Twitter writer: Google had alienate "all Christians in America today," Raw Story reported.
Meanwhile, plenty of others tweeted their vows to switch to Bing — which at least had images posted of eggs — as a search-engine service.
