The U.S. State Department has issued a warning Wednesday to residents traveling in Pakistan to be on guard for terrorist attacks.
"The presence of several foreign and indigenous terrorist groups poses a potential danger to U.S. citizens throughout Pakistan," a State Department warning read, as reported by United Press International. "Across the country, terrorist attacks frequently occur against civilian, government and foreign targets."
The advisory also warned against the potential for kidnapping. Pakistani radicals often abduct people and use them to get ransom money, UPI reported.
"Threat reporting indicates terrorist groups continue to seek opportunities to attack locations where U.S. citizens and Westerners are known to congregate or visit," State Department said, in the warning.
