AUGUSTA, GA. (AP) - Angel Cabrera answered Adam Scott’s birdie on the 18th hole to force a playoff in the Masters.

Scott drained a 20-foot birdie to take a one-stroke lead at 9 under while Cabrera was waiting to hit his second shot on the final hole.

Cabrera put his shot 3 feet from the hole while Scott was signing his scorecard. Cabrera then sank the short put to also finish at 9 under and force a playoff.

DAY‘S NIGHTMARE

Jason Day might be headed for another Masters heartbreak.

The Australian, a runner-up at Augusta two years ago, shot a 2-under 70 in the final round Sunday, going to the clubhouse one shot behind co-leaders Adam Scott and Angel Cabrera.

They both have the 18th hole to play.

Day was in the lead until he made bogeys at the 16th and 17th holes.
