Online suggestions that she and her family should be shot to teach her a lesson made her think that if she were presented with such a situation, she and her family would be in a much better position to defend themselves if they had guns than if they didn’t.

“None of them have made me upset or shy away from the topic,” she said.

As for what’s next, she said she has been looking into shooting scholarships at schools such as Harvard and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and didn’t seem opposed to taking her opinions to Washington as the debate continues on Capitol Hill.

“I’m not going to stop fighting on this just because some people disagree with me,” she said.
