Mock Mormon missionaries on Las Vegas robbing spree still at large

- The Washington Times - Wednesday, August 21, 2013

Two men posing as Mormon missionaries recently knocked on a Las Vegas homeowner's door, chatted with the resident who opened it — then whipped out a gun and assaulted and robbed him.

"Something went around my neck, a hand went around my mouth. I screamed for my wife," said homeowner Terence Delucia, recounting the incident for CNN. His wife then ran to the bedroom and called 911 while their daughter hid in her bedroom closet.

The fake Mormons, meanwhile, began punching Mr. Delucia with their weapon and fist, CNN reported.

"I figured they were just going to kill me," he said.

The pair ultimately took $3,000 in cash, three iPads and an iPod. That was back in June — but police are still searching for the robbers. The released surveillance images of the suspects on Tuesday and have asked anyone with information to call authorities. The two were dressed in standard Mormon missionary garb — white shirts, black pants and black ties — and were carrying black backpacks, CNN reported.
