Anyone raised even moderately well knows how to conduct himself at a memorial service. To have a cellphone turned on and in use during a memorial service is unbelievably rude (“Obama’s antics at Nelson Mandela tribute overshadow somber eulogy,” Web, Dec. 10).

To be in attendance at the memorial service of late South African leader Nelson Mandela as the representative of the United States of America and exhibit the behavior of a classless buffoon is a horrific, shameful act, to say the very least. I long for the day when we can finally say good riddance to the president who has once again made so many American citizens hang their heads in embarrassment.
