Five priests have been removed and one was placed on leave as the result of an investigation into alleged child sex abuse, the Archdiocese of Philadelphia announced Sunday.

The Rev. Michael A. Chapman, the Rev. Mark E. Fernandes, the Rev. Joseph M. Glatts, the Rev. Stephen B. Perzan and the Rev. Peter J. Talocci were removed from the church following an investigation brought on by a February 2011 grand jury report, NBC 10 Philadelphia reported.

Fathers Fernandes and Glatts were not accused of sexual misconduct but instead of violating church standards. Two other priests, the Rev. Zachary W. Navit and the Rev. Francis J. Schlett, were cleared after the review board was unable to substantiate the claims against them, the station reported.

The archdiocese then announced that the Rev. John P. Paul has been placed on administrative leave after being accused of sexual abuse of a minor more than 40 years ago, NBC 10 said.
