President Obama and the first lady have turned to a niche market for help with selling Obamacare to a reluctant and frustrated public — the moms of the nation.
The White House couple is set host an event in the Oval Office to draw mothers to their side, and to sway the youth into enrolling into the exchanges, The Hill reported.
"They will discuss the critical role moms are playing in helping their families access quality, affordable health care by encouraging their adult children, family members and peers to sign up for coverage," said one White House official, in The Hill.
The Obama administration sees women — and particularly, mothers — as key to smoothing the botched Obamacare rollout.
"Women have a huge influence on their families and are a key demographic for the ongoing effort to ensure that consumers know about the benefits they can access through the health law," the White House official said, in The Hill.
Still, the reach-out is definitely eleventh hour. A weekend USA Today-Pew Research poll found 54 percent of Americans disapprove of Obamacare.
