CNN asks if Rubio’s sip of water a ‘career-ender’

The Situation Room host Wolf Blitzer asked his audience if a drink of water “can make or break a political career” Wednesday after Florida Sen. Marco Rubio gave his State of the Union rebuttal Tuesday night.

The Twitterverse was ablaze last night after Mr. Rubio’s now-famous #RubioSip when he reached off camera to take a swig of water from a water bottle to cure his dry mouth.

Mr. Blitzer joked it was an action that could kill the senator’s chances for a 2016 presidential run. He played the video a couple of times with the header reading, “Career-ender?”

The CNN host was captured off-camera saying, “uh oh” Tuesday night as Rubio took the sip, and gifs of the moment immediately popped up on Twitter.

CNN Public Relations took to Twitter shortly after the “Career-ender?” segment to say the host was only teasing.
