DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. (AP) - STP has signed a multi-year sponsorship agreement with Martinsville Speedway that kicks off with the Sprint Cup race there on April 7.

STP will be a co-primary sponsor of Richard Petty Motorsports and the No. 43 Jani-King STP Ford Fusion driven by Aric Amirola at the Martinsville spring race. The paint scheme will be commemorative of the first time the STP logo was on Petty's car at Riverside in 1972.

Petty's STP sponsorship is as much a part of the Hall of Famer's brand as the No. 43 and his Stetson hat.

"I can't wait to see the `72 Riverside STP car paint scheme back on the track," Petty said.

The No. 43 STP car hasn't won in Martinsville since John Andretti took the checkered flag in April 1999.
