OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - No. 1 draft pick Anthony Davis did not travel with the New Orleans Hornets for Wednesday night’s game at Oklahoma City, and guard Eric Gordon was also out of the starting lineup.
Davis sprained his left shoulder in a collision with Brooklyn’s Brook Lopez under the basket late in the third quarter of New Orleans’ 101-97 loss to the Nets on Tuesday night.
Team officials said during the game that he was available to return, but coach Monty Williams elected not to put him back in. Williams says Davis‘ status is day-to-day.
Gordon has been sitting out the second of back-to-back games since his return from a right knee injury earlier this season.
Ryan Anderson was set to start in place of Davis, with rookie Austin Rivers taking Gordon’s spot.
