LETTER TO THE EDITOR: ‘Man cave’ culture lacks responsibility

- The Washington Times - Wednesday, January 2, 2013

We have allowed our culture to become a culture of cliches, where "just sowing wild oats" and the glamor of sports stars are the epitome of masculinity.

Masculine behavior and paternal responsibilities have become oxymoronic because in many cases, men are not present in the home. That being the case, male sexual and family responsibilities must be taught in our schools as a serious subject. Filling a young man's head with ideas about creating a "man cave" in which to engage in sports adulation and snicker away at the seriousness of sexual consequences is an inevitable road to our cultural destruction.
