Man’s body found after report of shooting in Landover

A death investigation is under way in the Landover area of Prince George’s County after a shooting was reported Monday afternoon, according to Prince George's County police.

A resident called police to report a shooting after discovering a man’s body inside a commercial building in the 8500 block of Rainswood Drive, county police spokesman Lt. Bill Alexander said.

“The original call makes it seem like a citizen stumbled on the body and finds the scene,” he said. “They found a man suffering from unknown wounds.”

Homicide detectives were called in to investigate the death, and police said they would release more information Monday as it became available.

Several auto repair and shipping businesses are located in the industrial park where the death investigation was centered, but it was unclear in which business the man’s body was found.
