Pro-Obama group trains journalists in health care talking points

FreedomWorks, the nonprofit dedicated to lower taxes and limited government, reports that a recent symposium held by the Society of American Business Editors and Writers turned into boot camp at which reporters from mainstream organizations were trained on how to best articulate pro-‘Obamacare’ talking points.

For two days in mid-January, journalists met at the Reuters headquarters in New York at an event set up by the organization.

Rusty Weiss of FreedomWorks notes that during a portion of an event titled “Spreading the Word to America,” one of the speakers presented the “key challenge” to Obamacare messaging: informing consumers of how the ACA (Affordable Care Act) will benefit them.” Another speaker mentioned that “there’s no negative” to the landmark health care overhaul. Sherry Glied, who served under President Obama at the Department of Health and Human Services, was also a featured speaker.

Mr. Weiss
concludes that the symposium was one of the most “blatant examples of media bias and propaganda in journalism” today.
