CHARLEROI, BELGIUM (AP) - Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic of Serbia will face 127th-ranked Olivier Rochus of Belgium on Friday in the first round of the Davis Cup.
The Belgian hosts picked slow indoor clay as the surface, hoping it will unsettle the top-ranked Serb, who has just returned from playing on the faster hardcourts of Australia.
In the opening match of the best-of-five series, Belgium’s top player, 50th-ranked David Goffin, will play Viktor Troicki, ranked 11 places ahead of him.
Doubles are set for Saturday before reverse singles on the final day of competition.
