Winter X Games snowmobiler Caleb Moore dies

Snowmobiler Caleb Moore died Thursday after being injured in a crash last week during the Winter X Games in Colorado.

Mr. Moore was in critical condition since attempting a backflip at the event in Aspen.

After initially diagnosing Mr. Moore, 25, with a concussion, doctors soon discovered bleeding around his heart. He had emergency surgery at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction on Friday but suffered brain complications.

Family spokeswoman Chelsea Lawson said Mr. Moore died Thursday morning. The family declined to release any other details of his injuries, USA Today reports.
