The pink running shoes Texas State Sen. Wendy Davis wore during her filibuster against the late-term abortion ban quickly became a powerful symbol of the pro-choice movement.

But State Sen. Bob Deuell, a Republican, decided to counter that message on Tuesday, by displaying two pairs of pink and blue baby shoes to represent the unborn children who are aborted every day, LifeSiteNews reported.

Hundreds of people packed into the state house, supporters of the bill in blue T-shirts and those against in orange. Pro-lifers held a moment of prayer outside prior to the hearing.

An anti-abortion rally was held Monday night, with former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, Texas Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst and state Attorney General Greg Abbott in attendance, Breitbart reported.
