Paris Jackson's request to be transferred from UCLA Medical Center to a top-of-the-line rehabilitation facility in Utah has been rejected, because officials at the rehab fear an onslaught of media attention.
Ms. Jackson's current doctors won't let her return home, because they believe she is still a serious danger to herself. On June 5, the King of Pop's 15-year-old daughter tried to kill herself by taking 20 Motrin tablets and cutting her wrists with a meat cleaver.
Ms. Jackson's mother, Debbie Rowe, found the facility in Utah and thought it would be perfect for her daughter, but sources told TMZ that it has turned down the request, because officials are fearful paparazzi would swarm the place and jeopardize patients' privacy.
People connected with Ms. Jackson are contacting the facility and asking for reconsideration, but Ms. Rowe's search for a decent rehab continues, TMZ reported.
Paris remains in a wing of UCLA that treats patients with eating disorders — a problem Paris does not have, TMZ said.
