A Laurel man was fatally shot in his car early Thursday near the Farragut North Metro Station in Northwest D.C.
Police identified the man as Paul Aime Tanoh Danzo, 24, and were investigating whether the 2:30 a.m. shooting was related to a nearby nightclub or any sort of prior altercation.
“We’re still trying to determine whether it was related to a club,” Metropolitan Police Department homicide investigator Lt. Robert Alder said.
Mr. Danzo was shot several times, police spokeswoman Officer Tisha Gant said. He was alone inside his car, which was in the 1000 block of 17th Street Northwest when the shots were fired.
Investigators were looking for a black BMW with chrome wheels that was seen fleeing the scene of the shooting. Aside from that, police had no further descriptions of a suspect.
