Just weeks after Chinese officials removed 16,000 pig corpses from a river that supplies water to Shanghai, authorities have began removing over 1,000 dead ducks from the Nanhe River.
The ducks were discovered in 50 woven bags last Tuesday, Fox News reports.
Liang Weidong, director of publicity for Pengshan County, where the ducks were found, told China National Radio that the ducks had originated upstream and weren't dumped by farmers in the area, the BBC reports.
He added that the cause of death is unknown.
