Vegas gaming co. extends Nationwide sponsorship

LAS VEGAS (AP) - Boyd Gaming has extended its sponsorship of the Las Vegas Nationwide race through 2017.

The Nevada-based gaming company is one of the longest-running title sponsors in the Nationwide series, backing the Sam’s Town 300 since 1998. Boyd has nine casinos throughout the Las Vegas area, including three around historic Fremont Street.

Bruton Smith, whose Speedway Motorsports owns the Las Vegas track, announced the four-year sponsorship extension Saturday.
