Two men were shot — one fatally — overnight in separate incidents in Prince George's County.
The fatal shooting occurred inside a Seat Pleasant home around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to police. Officers were called to a home at 606 Cabin Branch Drive and found Michael Nolan Brown, 23, suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. He died at the scene.
Police said a preliminary investigation suggested that several people entered the home and tried to rob Mr. Brown at gunpoint. He resisted and was shot.
The man's death marks the 31st homicide this year in the county, according to Prince George's County police.
A second man was shot and injured around 9:15 p.m. Tuesday near a public pool and nature center in Mount Rainier. Officers were called to the 3100 block of Arundel Road for a report of a shooting and found a man who had been shot in the upper body sitting in a vehicle, according to county police spokesman Lt. William Alexander.
The man was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. Police had no information Tuesday on the motive in the shooting or the man's condition.
