More than 2,500 of Britain’s best and brightest in the teen-aged crowd have signed on to a new Facebook page for Mensa members.

The International Gateway for Gifted Youth website poses some of the most challenging questions, problems and puzzles, as well as provides a high-IQ chat environment, on a page designed to draw the world’s brightest from the 13- to 18-year-old crowd. Three-quarters of those who have signed on so far hail from Britain, The Telegraph reported.

Students from India, Singapore, South Africa, Hong Kong and Australia have also joined, The Telegraph said.

“It’s a bit like building the Olympiads of education,” said Adam Boddison, the project’s academic director, in The Independent. “It’s acceptable to strive for excellence in sports, but it doesn’t seem acceptable in education. Watch this space. We want to change that.”
