After reading “Obama: ‘I am sorry they are finding themselves in this situation’” (Web, Nov. 8), I felt disappointed by our president.

The Affordable Care Act, passed by President Obama, was meant to help people obtain health insurance. When Mr. Obama first discussed passing the act, he insisted that people who already had health insurance plans that they liked would be able to keep their current policies. He promised this to the American people time and time again. Yet now the 14 million people who have insurance through the individual insurance market are at risk of losing their policies, and as much as two-thirds of this 14-million-person group could lose their policies.

This lack of honesty and planning being demonstrated by our president and his administration show the need for some sort of repercussion. There are demands that Mr. Obama fire his Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. Whatever the final outcome, Mr. Obama needs to fix this problem so that the American people can have the health protection they were promised.
