In a snub to New York City’s thriving party planning industry, mayoral hopeful Bill de Blasio’s campaign outsourced its needs to a production company in Youngstown, Ohio, to plan his election-night party, the New York Post has revealed.

CEO of Forty Two event productions, Anthony Ferrello, took to Twitter on Saturday to criticize New York City shortly before revealing his role in Mr. de Blasio’s campaign.

“Not a big NYC fan today #youngstown #nyc #electionseason,” he said on Saturday.

“Just arrived to finish off #electionseason 2013 with the victory party for @BilldeBlasio #NYC mayor race,” he tweeted Monday.

Forty Two has handled major events for President Obama’s 2008 and 2012 campaigns, and Ferrello has worked with Mr. de Blasio’s campaign consultants at Berlin Rosen in the past, the Post reported.

The Democrat’s campaign spokesperson, Dan Levitan, said the campaign is also using several production companies from New York.

“The campaign is using multiple production companies for tomorrow’s party, including several from New York,” he told the Post. “We’re looking forward to a great time.”

New Yorkers head to the polls Tuesday to select their new mayor. Polling places are open from 6 a.m. Tuesday until 9 p.m. Tuesday night.
