A 27-year-old woman was arrested early Wednesday after D.C. police said she stabbed a man in the buttocks with a broken bottle during an argument.

The assault occurred around 1:30 a.m. in the 900 block of Kennedy Street in the Northwest D.C. neighborhood of Brightwood Park.

The man and woman were arguing when she stabbed him, Metropolitan Police Department spokesman Officer Anthony Clay said. The man was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Police arrested Marquita Tibbs, of Southeast, and charged her with assault with a dangerous weapon, Officer Clay said. Further details about the stabbing, including whether it was domestic-related, were not immediately known.
