Islamic militants killed a Christian pastor and his son and torched a church in northeast Nigeria before dawn Thursday, police said.
Corporal Musa Ibrahim said the attackers also killed the village head at Dorawa, about 60 miles from the Yobe state school where Islamists killed 29 students in July, the Associated Press reported.
Mr. Ibrahim said terrorists used explosives to set the church and five houses ablaze.
Yobe is one of three northeastern states trying to halt an Islamic uprising by militants who have killed more than 1,700 people since 2010 in their mission to turn Nigeria into and Islamic state, AP reported.
