Rep. Peter King wishes Obama ‘was more a commander in chief than a community organizer’

- The Washington Times - Sunday, September 8, 2013

Rep. Peter T. King on Sunday ripped apart President Obama's handling of the Syria crisis, saying he is more of a "community organizer" than a leader.

"I wish the president had laid this out better," Mr. King, New York Republican, said on NBC's "Meet the Press," the Blaze first reported. "I wish he'd quit backing away from his own red line, and I wish he was more a commander in chief than a community organizer."

"For one year he says this red line was there," he added. "The red line is crossed, and he sends Kerry and Hagel out, we're all set to basically have an attack, we're told that Congress is not needed, at the eleventh hour he brings in Congress, and then he says it's not his red line. So here's a person who's vacillating. I can't imagine Harry Truman or John Kennedy or Ronald Reagan or Dwight Eisenhower ever putting a nation in a position like this on a military policy."

In the Senate, the Foreign Relations Committee approved a resolution to strike Syria last week, and it will be the subject of debate in the full Senate this week.
