MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) - Montana men's basketball coach Wayne Tinkle has announced the signing of Diablo Valley College guard Jermaine Edmonds Jr.

The 6-foot-5, 200-pound Edmonds averaged 14.5 points, four rebounds and 3.6 assists per game as a freshman at the junior college. He will have three years of eligibility at Montana.

Tinkle says Edmonds is an athletic guard with good court vision who can be an explosive scorer. Edmonds was a teammate of Montana's starting point guard Mario Dunn at Salesian High School in Richmond, Calif., where they won a state championship in 2012.

Tinkle says Edmonds can play any guard position.
