WARREN, Mich. (AP) - Warren police say an unloaded .22-caliber pistol and six bullets were found in the backpack of a 15-year-old student at his high school.

Detective Gregory Booton tells the Detroit Free Press the teen was being held on a $50,000 bond after a hearing Friday on charges of carrying a concealed weapon, possessing a weapon in a weapon-free school zone and possession of marijuana.

The boy was not named because he is a juvenile. His next court date is April 24.

Authorities tell The Macomb Daily of Mount Clemens that the gun in the backpack was found wrapped in a white bandana. Three small bags of marijuana were found on the boy during a search at the police station.

According to Booton, the boy was expelled from Woods Tower High School.
