BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - The final federal lawsuit filed after the crash of Continental Flight 3407 that killed 50 people near Buffalo has now been settled.

The agreement reached Wednesday means there’s no need for the federal trial scheduled for May 28.

However, three lawsuits are still pending in state court, and one or all of those could progress to trial.

The Newark, N.J.-to-Buffalo flight stalled and crashed into a house in Clarence in a 2009 accident investigators blamed on pilot error. The passengers’ families sued the airlines involved: Continental, along with Pinnacle Airlines and former subsidiary Colgan Air, the regional carrier that operated the flight.

Settlement amounts have not been disclosed.
