SOCORRO, N.M. (AP) - Authorities say an 87-year-old Albuquerque man is being treated at a hospital after being stranded for three days without food or water.

The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Department says John Roger Houghton was spotted Sunday morning off a dirt road in Socorro and state police located him.

Sheriff’s spokesman Aaron Williamson says Houghton was last seen Wednesday night driving his Honda Accord from his home.

Authorities issued a “Silver Alert” Saturday and said he was endangered and missing.

Williamson says Houghton is being treated at Socorro General Hospital but did not give details on his condition.

He says Houghton was on a hard-to-reach road.
