A study from Harris polling agency for the dating site AnastasiaDate found that the Porsche and other sports cars of its ilk have really fallen out of favor with ladies, who see such in-your-face speedsters as signs of drivers’ arrogance.

Instead, single women would rather date the guy with the Prius, the New York Post reported.

By the numbers, the poll found that 56 percent of women associate high-profile sporty car drivers as arrogant showoffs, and 17 percent think they have insecurity issues. About half, at the same time, said a man’s car reflects his economic status — and 46 percent, that the car is a reflection of the guy’s image of himself, the New York Post reported.

Another 37 percent said a man who owns an expensive car is obviously trying to compensate for “something,” the newspaper reported.


Another 11 percent say a male driver’s car can tell loads about his desire for a family.

But buying up — or down, depending on the image one wishes to project — won’t necessarily lead to more dates. Only one-fifth of the women questioned in the survey said they actually found a man more attractive after seeing the type of car he drives.

Women aren’t the only ones to draw conclusions from car types.

About 40 percent of the male respondents said a woman in a fast car is a showoff and 6 percent said she’s emotional.
