ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - State officials say Manzano Mountains State Park has finally reopened after two years.

But they say only dry camping is available right now because the park is having issues with its water lines.

State Parks Division Director Tommy Mutz says the agency’s staff members are working on getting the park’s infrastructure back up to par after being inactive for an extended period of time.

While the park was operated seasonally in the past, officials are hoping to have Manzano Mountains open year-round depending on weather and wildfire conditions.

The park is located in the eastern foothills of the Manzano Mountains. It had been closed due to a combination of high fire danger and a shift in division resources that resulted from a state government budget squeeze.
